A Costly Lesson That Led to Two Funded Accounts and a €2,761.22 Payout: Meet Borsa Liviu Adrian

We are thrilled to present an inspiring interview with Borsa Liviu Adrian – a trader who proves that resilience is the ultimate key to market success. Liviu currently manages two funded accounts with SpiceProp under the Sweet Pepper program (50k and 25k). What’s more, he recently secured a fantastic payout of €2,761.22 from his 50k account! The journey here wasn’t easy, making his story of grit, mentorship, and strict rules a must-read.
Why do you like to trade with SpiceProp?
Yes, I do. Taking into consideration how the market has looked for a while now, your free reset offer helps us traders the most at this moment.
What was the most important thing that helped you pass the SpiceProp challenge?
Definitely the free reset offer, which gives immense psychological comfort under current market conditions.
What was the key moment in your career as a trader?
The key moment for me in my trading career was the fact that I did not give up when I spent over $5,000 on challenges before I even got my first funded account. That key moment got me where I am right now, as I learned a lot about the market during that period.
How long have you been trading?
For over 4 years.
What is your trading plan?
Well, my trading plan is easy, but I never change these rules:
- I only trade EUR/USD (mostly).
- Mostly, I trade when the London and New York sessions are open.
- I open the trade when the price has reached a key support or resistance level. Also, I try to identify a clear candle formation which can confirm the rejection or continuation of the trend. Most of the time, I trade only in the direction of the main trend ("the trend is your friend"), but not always—it depends on the macroeconomic reports planned for the day or my gut feeling.
- Also, I mostly risk a maximum of 2% of my money, but usually 1%.
What quality of your character helps you succeed in the SpiceProp challenge (in three words)?
Discipline, Patience, Consistency.
What separates the average traders from the best?
From my point of view, it is how you manage capital, your mind, and data.
Can you tell us about the best piece of advice that has brought you good results in the SpiceProp challenge?
Somebody told me that the most important thing for a trader is to protect the account's maximum drawdown, not to hit the profit target.
Could you share with our SpiceProp Trader community any books, online resources, or people that were significant in your trading development?
Well, the most important tools for me are Forexfactory.com and TradingView. Also, Tom Hougaard slowly became my mentor :) I really liked him and his community (tradertom). There are also a few books by Mark Douglas which are very helpful.
Should we learn from ourselves or from others?
Both.
What does your ‘ideal setup’ look like? Describe the three key conditions that must be met for you to open a position.
I think it is about waiting for the market to align perfectly so the odds are heavily skewed in my favor.
Do you have a morning ritual or pre-session routine that helps you get into the right frame of mind?
Not really.
What hobby, apart from trading, helps you clear your head most effectively after a tough day on the market?
Playing football with my friends every evening.
